The Academy of Arts Film Archive preserves and collects the documentary remains and archives of film makers from the German-speaking world, from the beginnings of film until today. The collections focus on members of the Academy of Arts, the history of film in the GDR, film makers of Berlin and Brandenburg, the history of the TV film, and artists who work both on stage and screen. The personal archives, particularly those of directors, actors, scriptwriters and cameramen, are supplemented by collections of scripts, film programmes, advertising materials, newspaper articles, scene stills and work photographs.

Please direct all enquiries to the archive department concerned or to benutzerservice@adk.de. Archive material can only be viewed in the Archive’s Reading Rooms at the Academy of Arts. Electronic catalogues for selected holdings are available for your research.
