Claudio Magris: Verfahren eingestellt

Book Premiere

For his “war museum for peace”, a man in Trieste collects all manner of military equipment and weapons telling the stories of those who killed with them or were killed by them. After a fire in the museum, Luisa, whose mother is Jewish and father an Afro-American lieutenant, tries to reconstruct the collection. In the process, she has to confront both the story of her forebears between diaspora and slavery, as well as the history of San Sabba, Italy’s only concentration camp. Introduction by Lothar Müller.
