Käthe Kollwitz and Berlin A Search for Traces on the 150th Anniversary of the Artist’s Birth

Exhibition Opening

To commemorate what would have been Käthe Kollwitz’ (1867–1945) 150th birthday, the Galerie Parterre is dedicating an exhibition to the exceptional graphic artist and sculptor in close proximity to where she used to live. The Käthe Kollwitz Museum Köln and the archives of the Akademie der Künste, Berlin, are cooperation partners.

Speakers at the opening: Sören Benn, district mayor of Berlin-Pankow; Hannelore Fischer, director of the Käthe Kollwitz Museum Köln (Cologne); Werner Heegewaldt, director of the archives at the Akademie der Künste, Berlin; Lothar Böhme, prizewinner of the Akademie’s Käthe Kollwitz Prize in 1992; and the project curator Kathleen Krenzlin, director of the Galerie Parterre Berlin.
