Regina Fredriksson is a soprano. She was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. She finished her master's in 2013 and her bachelor's degree with highest distinction in 2011 under Eva Hess Thaysen and Hanna Hjort as her main singing teachers. Roles she played during her studies included L'enfant from Maurice Ravels L'enfant et les Sortileges and a nun in Dialogues des Carmelites by Francis Poulenc on The Old Stage at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen, as well as the soprano part in Gioachino Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle.

“My ambition as a singer is to always be conscious of and work hard to see how I can improve myself, and whether I can find new inspiration in terms of what I can add, for example through my own interpretation, when I learn and study a role. With this fantastic opportunity and great honour from the Junge Akademie, my goal and ambition for next year is to work with the German soprano Katrin Kapplusch, with whom I will gladly continue to work on the repertoire and roles I would like to perform at the opera. Hopefully, I will have the chance to work with director Arila Siegert, whom I had the honour of working with last year.”
