Helga Paris – an Archive in Black and White

Archive Presentation

Helga Paris is one of the most important contemporary female photographers. Now she has gifted her archive to the Akademie der Künste. 6,300 rolls of film and nearly 230,000 negatives form a rich, subjective documentary chronicle covering over four decades of Berlin and German history.

On the occasion of the archive presentation, artist-friends and portrait subjects such as Helmut Brade, Elke Erb, Christian Grashof, Annett Gröschner, Peter Kahane and Bert Papenfuß, will speak about their collaboration and the impact of her photographs.

Event in the context of the exhibition “Helga Paris, Photographer”.
