The Akademie der Künste honours its member Eugen Gomringer
Façade presentation of the poem schweigen (silencio) at Pariser Platz

The Akademie der Künste is more than concerned about the discourse characterised by terms alien to art that has emerged around the poem ciudad (avenidas) by its member Eugen Gomringer.
The very nature and freedom of art is threatened when one attempts to instrumentalise it. Eugen Gomringer is the founder and one of the most important representatives of concrete poetry.
The Akademie der Künste honours the work of Eugen Gomringer at an exposed location, namely the façade of its building at Pariser Platz, by displaying his poem schweigen (silencio) in the public sphere.
Artistic freedom must at all times remain untouched by biased debates.
