100 Years of Bauhaus Art-Figure-Costume: The ball of the head, the triangle of the nose

Workshop

Oskar Schlemmer wrote in his diary about the square of the chest, the circle of the stomach, the cylinder of the neck, the ball of the head and the triangle of the nose. These notions of a geometrical abstraction of the organic body shape are addressed in his concept of the Triadic Ballet. We want to build our own chests, stomachs and necks! They don't necessarily have to be geometric, but should change our body shapes. What happens with our body when a leg suddenly gets really heavy or thick or immovable? Or the head can no longer be turned? I can still move – but how? In the two-day workshop each participant "builds" his own costume, inspired by the Triadic Ballet.
