urbainable – stadthaltig Where, Please, is the Sustainable City? Ideas and Concepts for an Urban Future

Talk

Our cities must become more sustainable, that's no question any longer – but it's certainly a question of how this goal can be achieved: Are individual measures such as the technical improvement of buildings or the promotion of electromobility sufficient, or do we need to take a holistic view of our cities? Can this challenge be met by experts and the construction industry alone, or is it a task for society as a whole? What good examples do we already know of and what ideas are there for the future?

These and other questions are dictated by Almut Grüntuch-Ernst (member of the Akademie der Künste, architect and professor of design and architectural strategies, TU Braunschweig), Christoph Grafe (professor of architectural history and theory, Bergische Universität Wuppertal) and Harald Welzer (sociologist and social psychologist, director of the Futurzwei Foundation and professor of transformation design, Europa-Universität-Flensburg)
Moderation: Tim Rieniets (curator of the exhibition "urbainable - stadthaltig", professor of urban and spatial development, Leibniz Universität Hannover).
