Franz Fühmann or Literature as a Cure for Dogmatic Thinking

Reading and Discussion

For Franz Fühmann, who would be 100 years old now, the word was a “unit of contradiction” that eludes unambiguous categorisation. This realisation protected him from further ideological appropriations after his experiences with fascism and Stalinism. Isabel Fargo Cole, Ingo Schulze and Gabriele Radecke talk about why this author is so extremely topical in times of political polarisation and dogmatic debates.

Pandemic-related conditions of participation for the event:
Due to current developments, visiting the event is possible for vaccinated and recovered persons PLUS a same-day negative test result PLUS FFP2 mask. These measures also apply to persons who have already received their third vaccination (booster).
