Archive
All available holdings relating to individuals are listed alphabetically in the List of Overall Holdings. Click on an individual holding in the list and a brief description will set out its main contents. The selected information (names and concepts) may also be accessed across all holdings by using the Full Text Search.
Since 1990 all individual holdings have been itemised electronically. Completed electronic itemisations can be researched in the Electronic Index. Cross-holding research covering all electronically itemised holdings can be carried out in the Central Database in the Reading Rooms, as can research in holdings for which itemisation has not yet been completed.
Indexes are available in the Reading Room, in a few cases lists also, for archive holdings which have been itemised by analogue process.
Library
The Library has 250,000 holding units itemised, which can be researched in the Electronic Catalogue (Opac). Other book holdings can be found by using the Cell Catalogues in the Reading Room in Pariser Platz.
