Alex Wedding Prize

The Alex Wedding Prize was endowed in 1967 by Grete Weiskopf, who wrote under the pseudonym of Alex Wedding. This prize for children’s and young people’s literature is awarded every two to three years on the occasion of the anniversary of Alex Wedding’s birth on 11th May. Between 1968 and 1992 the prize was awarded by the Akademie der Künste (East). The prize has a value of 5,000 Euros. The winner is selected by an independent three-member jury.
