Archives Board
The Archives Board supports and advises the Archives and the President of the Akademie der Künste in all questions related to the Archives and archival materials.
The Archives Board comprises the President and Vice-President of the Akademie der Künste as well as six leading figures in the arts and academia from the areas of the Visual Arts, Architecture, Music, Literature, Performing Arts, and Film and Media Arts. These six Board members are appointed for a period of five years. In addition, the Archives Board includes a representative of the Federal Government’s Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), a representative of the Office of the Federal President as well as one representative of the Senate Department responsible for cultural affairs in the federal state of Berlin, and one representative of the corresponding ministry in the federal state of Brandenburg. The Director and Deputy Director of the Archives, together with the Presidential Secretary, also attend Archives Board meetings and can vote in an advisory capacity.
