Akademie der Künste, Hanseatenweg
Over the next three weeks, the JUNGE AKADEMIE is bringing together 32 international artists from all artistic disciplines. They are participating in both internal meetings and public events.
The Programme Night on 28 April launches AGORA ARTES, featuring the work presentations of the 2017 Fellows. The programme includes discussions, performances, concerts, readings as well as interdisciplinary contributions addressing the "RetroProSpekt MODERNE" theme. Most of the works exhibited were created in Berlin during the artists' residencies at the Akademie's studios. The exhibition is on view until 13 May.
This year's fellows will surely attract attention at the public PLENUM on 3 May. The artists come from Bosnia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Palestine, Russia, Spain, Syria, and Turkey and will be providing first impressions of their works in short presentations.
On 8 May the Villa Serpentara, Basel-Berlin and Schlubach-Hirschmeier Fellows will give accounts of the projects they developed during their residencies in 2017.
As a forum for continual exploration and interaction with new developments in art, the JUNGE AKADEMIE is a central component of the Akademie der Künste. Through its fellowship programs the Akademie is able to support the advancement of young artists from around the world, allying them to the institution, its members and projects. With the exception of the Basel-Berlin and the Werner Düttmann Fellowships, fellows are chosen by Akademie members representing all six sections of art at the Akademie der Künste.
