Programme changes for the festival “Memories in Music”
Live streaming of outdoor trail
6 – 9 May 2021

The festival Memories in Music is devoted to new thematic approaches in contemporary music. From 6 to 9 May, Memories in Music is offering a broad insight into a varied contemporary musical practice that is questioning canons and aesthetic norms and participating in historiography, commemorative culture and social transformation.

The programme comprises the digital symposium “What Does Freedom Sound Like?”, four online concerts and audio walks. The trail planned in the many niches of the grounds of the Akademie der Künste with audio-visual installations and live performances by musicians has unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the current COVID-19 restrictions. Performances filmed at various stations of the trail will now be included in the evening concert programme.

On site at Hanseatenweg, it will still be possible to download project-related radio compositions for individual audio walks via QR codes onto smartphones. The over 60-page German-English magazine on the festival with varied text and image material on the works can also be collected free of charge on site.
