Mario de Vega (Mexico City, 1979)

Through site-specific installations, documentation of ephemeral interventions, concrete actions, sculptur and publications, his work explores the value of failure, vulnerability and simulation.

De Vega ́s work brings attention to contemporary issues around the value of vulnerability and corruption. He also esteems the process, including negotiations leading to the performance, as an important part of his own research. His work produces situations for specific spaces, assuming the impossibility of control of both the actions and the results of his interventions. Thereby, leaving space to the exploration and reflection about the factors of the uncanny, and thus the unpredictable.

His work has been exhibited in different contexts throughout Mexico, North America, South Africa and India.
