Jan Faktor

Jan Faktor (born in 1951 in Prague) Czech-German writer, moved to East Berlin in 1978. In the 1980s, Faktor discovered the Rückläufige Wörterbuch der deutschen Gegenwartssprache (reverse dictionary of the contemporary German language) for experimental poetry. Until 1989, he was almost exclusively involved in the unofficial literature scene. In 2005, Alfred Döblin Award, 2010 Candide Award. Publications include: Georgs Versuche an einem Gedicht ... (1989), Henry's Jupitergestik ... (1991), Die Leute trinken zuviel ... (1995), Schornstein (2006). The novel Georgs Sorgen um die Vergangenheit ... (Georg's concern about the past ...) (2010) was nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize and was shortlisted for the German Book Prize in 2010.
