Auteur films, documentaries and artistic film essays are disappearing more and more from movie screens. Cinemas in small towns are fighting for their existence. The community experience at the cinema faces the ubiquitous availability of streaming services. The joy of cinema, the fear of its disappearance and the courage to start new theatres are some of the issues at stake.
From 6 pm on, current film trailers will be shown. (Beuys by Andres Veiel, 2017; In Zeiten des abnehmenden Lichts by Matti Geschonneck, screenplay: Wolfgang Kohlhaase, 2017; Überleben in Neukölln by Rosa von Praunheim, 2017; Leaning into the Wind - Andy Goldsworthy by Thomas Riedelsheimer, 2017; Playing God by Karin Jurschick, 2017).
