Claus Löser (born 1962 in Karl-Marx-Stadt). 1990 to 1995, studies at HFF Babelsberg. Since 1990, programme designer for the BrotfabrikKino in Berlin. Since 1992, freelance film critic. 1996 Foundation of the collection ex.oriente.lux – Experimental Film Archive East 1976 to 1989 and publication of the book Gegenbilder – Filmische Subversion in der DDR. In 2009, curator of the film series After Winter Comes Spring – Films Presaging the Fall of the Wall (Berlinale). 2009: documentary film Behauptung des Raums – Wege unabhängiger Ausstellungskultur in der DDR (with Jakobine Motz), 2011: Strategien der Verweigerung, 2015: documentary film Ornament & Verbrechen (with Jakobine Motz).
