Hanns Schimansky – Linienwärts

Exhibition

Hanns Schimansky is an exceptional contemporary German draftsmen. He works with graphite, oil pastels, pencil or gouache on paper. This surface not only acts as a support for his drawings, but often incorporates a series of folds that affect the perception of the graphic process. Thwarting the viewer’s freedom to form their own perceptions from visual impressions, he offers his version of what is to be experienced and visible. And it is anything but abstract. The exhibition shows a cross-section of his work.

In cooperation with the Kurt Tucholsky Literaturmuseum Schloss Rheinsberg.
