Award Ceremony and Concert

Aribert Reimann has endowed the Busoni Composition Prize for young composers since 1988. German composer Benjamin Scheuer (b. 1987) is the 2017 prizewinner. His music, which often uses objects and sounds from daily life, is sensual, direct and humorous. Spanish composer Óscar Escudero (b. 1992) is to receive the advancement award. Under Lennart Dohms, the ensemble mosaik with Sarah Maria Sun (soprano) and Andreas Fischer (bass) will perform the works of both prizewinners including world premieres, as well as music by Ferruccio Busoni.
