Berlin Fellowship
The Berlin fellowship is an artist-in-residence program which supports young international artists from each of the Akademie der Künste's six art sections: visual arts, architecture, music, literature, performing arts, film and media arts. A jury, consisting of members of the Akademie, will annually appoint two artists of each art section for the interdisciplinary fellowship of the JUNGE AKADEMIE. The studios are located in the building on Hanseatenweg in the district Tiergarten and are available as both working spaces and accommodation. Furthermore there is an additional guest studio at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in the district of Kreuzberg. The fellowship, which begins in spring in conjunction with the annual general members' meeting, offers young artists the opportunity to take part in an equal, interdisciplinary exchange with members and partners of the Akademie der Künste, with fellow artists and alumni. It provides the space and resources to work on projects across the arts and in the field of artistic research and to present those projects in exhibitions, lectures, performances, workshops, open studios.
