Award Ceremony

The writer Nino Haratischwili, born in Tbilisi (Tiflis), Georgia in 1983 and now living in Hamburg, is being awarded the Anna Seghers Foundation’s 8,000-euro prize. The prize will be presented to her on Anna Seghers’ birthday in appreciation of Haratischwili’s versatile and exceptional literary work. Annett Gröschner, this year’s jury, characterized Nino Haratischwili “as the most powerful and the least egocentric among younger contemporary women writers.” Laudation by Annett Gröschner, reading by Nino Haratischwili.
