Summer Festival at Brecht-Haus

“Come and sit down, dear guest!”

A varied programme awaits you at the summer festival in the Brecht-Haus. There will be concerts by Jo Ambros and Mona Mur in the courtyard, guided tours at the Brecht-Weigel-Museum and the Dorotheenstadt Cemetery, and a reading with Corinna Harfouch and Felix Kroll entitled “Ja, ich folge diesen kleinen Alten bisweilen”, poems from China, France, Italy, Finland, translated by Bertolt Brecht.

The summer festival starts at 3 pm with the ceremonial opening of the Brecht-Keller (Brecht Cellar) as a new literary event and meeting place, with words of welcome from Klaus Lederer, Mayor and Senator for Culture and Europe in Berlin.

The caterer “Berliner Maultasche” will be offering snacks and drinks in the courtyard.

The Bertolt-Brecht-Archiv shows manuscripts, photographs, documents, films on the theme “It will be uninhabitable without peace”.

The “witching hour” begins at 9 pm at the cemeteries Dorotheenstädtischer and Französischer Friedhof with Daniela Dahn, Jenny Erpenbeck, Corinna Harfouch, Michael Kleeberg, Ursula Krechel, Anna Müller, Lothar Müller, Annette Simon, Daisy Schlesinger, Veit Schubert, Hans-Dieter Schütt, Holger Teschke, Peter Wawerzinek, Erdmut Wizisla and students of the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts – with saxophone sounds by Warnfried Altmann and an open chapel with James Turrell's light art.
