Der Drache (Deutsches Theater 1965) or Der gute Mensch Sezuan (Volksbühne 1970/71) – the director Benno Besson, French Swiss in East Berlin, created the most exciting theatrical wonders – play as the supreme vocation first. His spectacles went one better in their playful frenzy.
