Family Sunday in the Forger's Workshop
Provenance research entails more than clarifying ownership and making amends for historical injustices. It offers new and alternative viewpoints on familiar works. Surprising research findings about the ownership histories of artworks, books, objects and documents from the Akademie der Künste’s collections provided the starting points for the Provenance Research exhibition. Selected examples illustrate the methods and detective work required of provenance researchers and tell the stories behind the works.
The accompanying programme offers discussion rounds on various topics of the exhibition as well as an extensive educational programme.
The forger's workshop opens on three Sundays. Both young and older visitors are invited to paint over or copy pictures or photographs, to print on them, change their signets and use black light lamps to make traces on surfaces visible.
