DIALOGUE
Impossible Presence – On the Contemporary Colonial Unconscious in Germany

Peggy Piesche (Literary and Cultural Studies Scholar, Berlin, Germany) in conversation with Nana Adusei-Poku

This conversation between Peggy Piesche and Nana Adusei-Poku is a vivid intergenerational exchange about Germany’s colonial philosophical past as well as present. A communal exchange about being Black in Germany from a historically informed position, as well as an attempt to trace different strands of the complex web of the colonial matrix of power. The dialogue partners will particularly focus on the difficult history of 1968 in Germany and discuss how this date and movement was entangled with Black resistance movements in Germany and beyond.
