Day of Provenance Research

Guided Tour and Lecture

On Wednesday, 10 April 2019, the international Day of Provenance Research will take place for the first time. The day aims to introduce the wider public to the scholarly discipline of provenance research and to underline the diverse roles it plays in museums, archives and libraries.

The Kunstsammlung of the Akademie der Künste is presenting a small exhibition, highlighting some case studies. In short talks, which focus on recently conducted research, but also the collection's war losses as well as walks through the storage areas at Luisenstrasse, the Akademie's provenance researcher will give insights into her work, point to the challenges, and enter a dialogue with the public.
