Uncertain States FLAX Foreign Local Artistic Xchange. Pop-Up-Office.

Talk

FLAX is a cultural exchange and cooperation programme for locals and refugees engaged in the cultural sector. It promotes interdisciplinary artistic cooperation, development and cultural education. One of its key features is a mentoring programme for artists working in the visual arts. Here, FLAX can build on cooperations with numerous high-ranking institutions including, for example, the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee, Goethe-Institut, Villa Romana, ifa, Kunst-Werke Berlin, DAAD, Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik and the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. In a pop-up office during the exhibition, a group of prominent artists from Germany is advising and supporting refugees who are cultural practitioners. Those taking part include Rasha Abbas, Ulf Aminde, Nabil Arbain, Katharina Grosse, Gaby Horn, Lanna Idriss, Mona Jas, Ali Kaaf, Dima Kalaji, Jalal Maghout, Katharina Nabutovic, Nomadic Art, Annika Reich, Nasan Tur et al.
