Walter Kempowski in his Literary and Intellectual Context
In his monumental text collages, combining narrative tradition with the avant-garde, Walter Kempowski sought a political and aesthetic middle ground. When analysing historical failures of the bourgeoisie, he let those involved have their say. The conference examines the literary and intellectual constellations of a great prose writer, whose extensive archive is preserved at the Akademie der Künste.
