Entanglements of Power
A conversation between three alumni of the JUNGE AKADEMIE, Oleksandr Burlaka, Sasha Kurmaz and Mykola Ridnyi, with Hanna Aliieva, art historian and curator at the National Art Museum of Ukraine in Kyiv. Using the example of public sculptures, squares and collections in Berlin and Kyiv, the discussion will explore historical narratives of propaganda, colonialism and fascism that reach into the present. With artistic interventions as well as recent research on National Socialist art policy in Ukraine, the event addresses the complex entanglements of power and their symbols.
