Peter Joseph Lenné Prize 2016 by the State of Berlin
The Peter Joseph Lenné Prize awarded every two years by the State of Berlin is the world’s largest competition for young garden and landscape architects. This year, the prize is awarded for three design tasks in Berlin, Saxony and Holland.
The Akademie der Künste is a member of the consulting committee. Michael Bräuer, Director of the Architecture Section, is giving the welcome address. The prizes will be awarded by Andreas Geisel, Senator for Urban Development and the Environment (6 pm). The guest speaker is Florian Pronold, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety.
The Lenné Symposium (2 pm) considers the question of how much individual creativity and innovation is possible in landscape architecture today given the social negotiation processes, high level of pressure on sites and low levels of funding.
