Unfinished – Pabellón español, XV Bienal arquitectura de Venecia

Exhibition Opening

In Spain, architecture in particular has been badly affected by the economic crisis. Construction started on many public and speculative buildings, but after 2009 no decisions were made as to whether they were necessary, and many remained unfinished. The exhibition, which was shown at the Spanish Pavilion of the Architecture Biennale in Venice in 2016, where it won the Golden Lion, presents current architecture, approved in the excess of the pre-crisis period, which can be seen as unfinished and constantly evolving.

Exhibition opening with Jeanine Meerapfel, President of the Akademie der Künste, Embajadora Dña. María Victoria Morera Villuendas, Ambassador of Spain in Berlin, and Francisco Mangado, Director of the Spanish Urban and Architectural Exhibitions.

Producers and co-organizers: Gobierno de España, Ministerio de Fomento y Acción Cultural Española.
