Vogelsang meets Hoyer

Dance Performance

The young Berlin-based dancer and graduate of Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin, Nils Freyer will present Dore Hoyer's dance cycle Affectos Humanos (1961/1962) to music by Dimitri Wiatowitsch in an evening of chamber dance with Marianne Vogelsang's Bach Preludes (1971-1973). Both postwar masterpieces of German Ausdruckstanz have already before been inspiring recreations by distinguished solo dancers such as Academy Members Arila Siegert and Susanne Linke, among others. The introduction will be held by Prof. Ralf Stabel, whose comment on this this extraordinary artistic juxtaposition is: "Marianne Vogelsang's dance performances are characterized by a very distinct composition but still express deep emotions. By contrast, Dore Hoyer's performances stand out due to their expressivity, while still not lacking distinct composition."
