urbainable – stadthaltig Corona, Public Space and the Mobility Turn

Discussion

The coronavirus pandemic has once again raised awareness of the importance of public spaces in our cities due to the lockdown, travel bans and distance regulations. Besides many current tasks to overcome the crisis, recent experiences with the more intensive use of public spaces also offer the opportunity to push forward projects that have been acknowledged for some time, such as more extensive greening, a turn in mobility and a fairer distribution of traffic areas. Options for action, strategies and measures will be discussed.
