CONTINENT – In Search of Europe

The members of OSTKREUZ – Agentur der Fotografen explore the European present in their new joint project. In 22 positions, the photographers focus on various aspects of coexistence in Europe – personal, social and political phenomena.

With topics such as identity and security, renationalisation, migration and integration, democracy and freedom of opinion, they always find access to complex content through images of people and their surroundings. At the same time, they touch on sore points of this utopia of a cosmopolitan and international community called Europe. The various critical perspectives are always formulated from a very personal point of view, inviting reflection. CONTINENT offers fruitful impulses for the current debate on the future of Europe.

The exhibition on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the collective is curated by Ingo Taubhorn and takes place as part of the European Month of Photography 2020.

A podcast series accompanies the exhibition.

Supported by the European Fund for Regional Development (ERDF), the Senate Department for Culture and Europe and the Society of Friends of the Academy of Arts
