100 Years Malik-Verlag

Exhibition Opening

The Malik-Verlag was the leading publishing house for progressive literature and a mouthpiece for the leftist art scene during the Weimar Republic. It’s completely different, new approach to design attracted attention and prompted many imitations. The Malik-Verlag would have been 100 years old on 1 March 2017. The archives of the Akademie and students at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch present texts from the Malik-Verlag’s early publishing programme, with musical accompaniment by Maria Thomaschke and Susanne Stock.

A showcase exhibition displays books and archival materials from the Akademie’s collections.

With Michael Krejsa (welcoming address), Susanne Thier (lecture), Maria Thomaschke (voice), Susanne Stock (accordion), Beatrix Strobel and Daniel Adolf (reading).
