Tanzperformance
Dust Devil*(work in progress)
Özlem Alkiş

This dance performance examines how one motif develops and transforms itself into another in a repetitive structure through movement from one body to another. What resonates between the bodies and through space? A motif is not only a pattern of movement or a shape, but a motivation, or a motto that drives us. We develop motifs and play with them. What kind of forms appear from that?
* A dust devil is a type of a whirlwind, and we examine it as a quality, an impression, and a physical phenomena. (Özlem Alkiş)

Eländet, Das Elend (working title) gelesen von Stefan Pluschkat
Andrzej Tichý, Terézia Mora

A short text about violence, drugs and grace (Gnade). It is an excerpt from a forthcoming novel, a work-inprogress, with the provisional title „Wretchedness“ (Das Elend). „Contradiction alone is the proof that we are not everything. Contradiction is our wretchedness, and the sense of our wretchedness is the sense of reality.
For we do not invent our wretchedness. It is true. That is why we have to value it. All the rest is imaginary.“  (Simone Weil)

22.30 Uhr
Lesung und Gespräch (in engl.Sprache)
Valeria Luiselli, Uwe Timm und Dagmar Ploetz

Memphis follows the simple yet powerful Conradian premise “We live, as we dream – alone.” It tells the story of two journeys: one present and another imagined. The first is a family’s road trip through the United States – a contemporary, foreign family, slowly and hesitantly assimilating to a new homeland. The second is a hypothetical journey of two children travelling alone toward the Apacheria. Initial fragments of the novel will be read. (Valeria Luiselli)

Performance
Civil
Stella Christodoulopoulou
A performance that seeks to unravel the thread of Modern History in Greece. While observing the domino of political decisions and events that defined the Greek reality, we search for the nature of our heritage, for the content of past generations that still stands imperious, through the unbreakable flow of history. It is another way of learning to do justice to what we must compensate in order to move on. Fundamental questions arise as to what is the Homeland and to what motivates our actions, and these questions are universal. It is my conviction that in order to take a step forward, one must make a step back. – A short work in progress presentation – the performance will be completed late 2015.
