Together with cooperation partners, the Archives work on indexing, researching, conserving, digitising and publishing the holdings in their collections.
On behalf of the Theodor W. Adorno Archive and the Hamburger Stiftung zur Förderung von Wissenschaft und Kultur, the Walter Benjamin Archive is presently preparing an edition of Theodor W. Adorno's lectures from 1949 to 1968. Vorträge 1949–1968 is due to appear in the Suhrkamp Press in 2018. The Hamburger Stiftung zur Förderung von Wissenschaft und Kultur took over the personal papers of Florens Christian Rang (1864–1924) as a donation for the Walter Benjamin Archive. During the last years of his life, Florens Christian Rang, German theologian, politician and writer, was one of Walter Benjamin's close friends.more
Since 2008, Suhrkamp Press has been publishing Werke und Nachlaß, a critical edition of Walter Benjamin's complete works. In the course of preparing this new edition of 21 volumes, Benjamin's personal papers, which provide the basis for this critical edition, have been fully restored, digitised and newly indexed in the Akademie der Künste Archives Database.more
